HiT Entertainment ist der momentane Besitzer von Thomas & seine Freunde.

HiT wurde ursprünglich 1983 als Henson International Television (hit!) als eine Unterfirma der Jim Henson Company gergündet um die Co.Produktion von Fraggle Rock in London zu koordinieren. Diese Tochtergesellschaft wurde später verkauft und behielt keine der ursprünglichen Henson Firmenarchitektur mit Ausnahme des Namens. Es hat sich später als "HiT Entertainment" vermarktet.

Sie kauften 2003 Gullane Entertainment auf und haben seitdem Kontrolle über Thomas' Serie und Spielzeugwaren. HiT übernahm 2002 die Rechte für die TV-Serie, während Staffel 6 grade ausgestrahlt und Staffel 7 produziert wurde.

Am ersten Februar 2012 wurde bekanntgegeben, dass Mattel HiT Entertainment von Apax Partners für 680 Million US-Dollar aufgekauft hatte.

Mitarbeiter

Micaela Winter produziert für HiT, während Christopher Keenan der ausführende Produzent ist.

Jocelyn Stevenson, Lenora Hume, Christopher Skala, Karen Barnes, Marion Edwards, Michael Carrington und Edward Catchpole waren ehemalig ausführende Produzenten.

Ian McCue produzierte die Serie von Staffel 16 bis Staffel 20 und war auch der Herstellungsleiter für Staffel 15.

Sharon Miller und Jo Jordan waren ausführende Prodzenten. Letzterer war außerdem Postproduktionshersteller für Der Held der Schienen.

Denise Green war der Herstellungsleiter für Held der Schienen, Rettungseinsatz Nebelinsel, Staffel 13, Staffel 14 und Staffel 15. Winter übernahm diesen Job für Das große Rennen und Staffel 20.

Claire Waxler und Sam Barlow waren überwachende Produzenten.

Karen Davidsen war Regisseur der Produktion von Staffel 19, 20, Sodors Legende vom verlorenen Schatz und Das große Rennen.
